The Meredith College Student Success Center supports faculty and students across campus in creating a culture of belonging in which all students can achieve their goals. The Student Success Center employs advisors, success coaches, retention and learning specialists, and peer tutors. We are physically located in two buildings on campus: the bottom floor of the Carlyle Campbell Library for the Learning Center and across from HR in Park for Advising and Success Coaching.
The Student Success Center supports faculty in their role as academic advisors through professional development. We also provide success coaching for first-year students and students experiencing academic difficulty throughout their college career.
Furthermore, the Student Success Center contains the Learning Center, which provides free peer-tutoring services that empower students to become more confident and capable learners. The Learning Center offers tutoring in subjects such as world languages, mathematics, science, writing for all content areas. Its services include both one-on-one appointments and group sessions, offering a variety of learning dynamics. Each tutor not only is an experienced and successful student but also has been specifically trained to accommodate individual learning styles and needs.
The Student Success Center's primary goal is to encourage students to take charge of their own learning experience by offering collaborative and encouraging peer tutoring that cultivates independence, curiosity, efficiency, strength, and self-confidence.
