If the College is closed and classes are cancelled due to inclement weather, the College will submit public announcements on local radio and television stations. Information about class cancellations is available through MC Alert notifications (sign-up required) and Twitter feeds.
In the event the College does not cancel classes, individual instructors will still have the option of canceling classes. Instructors may also choose to hold virtual classes rather than cancelling classes. If you choose to virtually hold class while the college is closed due to inclement weather, you must make any class assignments by the time the course is regularly scheduled to begin. All instructors must include an inclement weather policy on their syllabi, as well as instructions to students regarding how to obtain information on any class cancellations.

Model syllabus statement on inclement weather: The college urges that all students sign up for MC Alerts. You may opt to receive texts, emails, and/or phone calls. Sign up for MC Alert by going to the "Students" section of the Meredith College Portal. You will be alerted when the college closes. College closure does not mean your class will not have online readings or assignments. A faculty member choosing to hold online class while the college is closed due to inclement weather must post any class assignments by the time the course is regularly scheduled to begin.
